The early 1990s had Arik Kislin as a principal in a real estate company that developed and managed 3.6 million square feet of New York City real estate including the amazing Chelsea Market area - a development that sparked the revolution of the Meatpacking District. After the sale of Chelsea Market, Kislin went on to partner with the Achenbaum family and become the principal developer of the Gansevoort Hotel. The Gansevoort Hotel became the property largely responsible for additional transformations of the meatpacking district turning it into the major international fashion, dining, and nightlife destination.

These days, the Gansevoort Hotel Group is still seeing a high level of success. Kislin is personally involved in developing two other locations for Gansevoort - one in Miami and one in Manhattan's Park Avenue South area. The Miami property is expected to open in the spring of 2008. Featuring 333 hotel rooms, 259 condos, a 42,000 square foot spa and lounge as well as a 140,000 square foot outdoor pool and bar space, and a 20,000 square foot restaurant, investors are teeming with excitement. The Park Avenue development, dubbed Gansevoort Park, will include 223 rooms as well as an indoor/outdoor rooftop bar and pool area across three levels.

A subsidiary of WSA Management, Ltd, the Gansevoort Hotel Group concentrates on locating poorly used properties, both in the form of unoccupied land and current structures, and renovating the area for the best possible use. Because of the high returns on construction from the ground up, Gansevoort likes to keep their focus on the bigger picture, but some renovation projects have been wholly satisfying to the team.

Arik Kislin is the definition of a self-made real estate investor, developer, and entrepreneur. Currently the principal of Linx Industries, a company that is in the diversified investment industry, Kislin and Linx have a significant stake in several different businesses including financial services and aviation.

On a more personal note, Mr. Kislin is a member of the New York Friars Club. One of Mr. Kislin's most important hobbies is baseball - he is a both lifetime player and fan. Mr. Kislin is married with two children and enjoys spending quality time with them, playing tennis and yachting.
